Crowding occurs when the all of the teeth do not properly fit within the jaw. Some of the complications that may be associated with crowding include gum disease.
Overlapped teeth typically occur when teeth are so overcrowded that they are crowding behind each other. This can also result from bad habits or simply be inherited. In this case, good dental hygiene can be difficult with bacteria having so many hiding places.
Open bites are most commonly caused by thumb sucking or tongue thrust creating an opening between front teeth when your jaw is shut.
Spacing between the teeth occurs when there is too big of a gap between teeth. This can be corrected using any type of our treatment options.
An overbite occurs when the upper jaw extends too far over the lower jaw. Dr. Howell works with each patient to ensure the right treatment for the best results.
The opposite of an overbite, underbites happen when the teeth on the lower jaw extend past the teeth on the upper jaw.
